Getty Thesaurus of Geographic Names
The Getty Thesaurus of Geographic Names is a structured vocabulary containing names and other information about approximately 912,000 places. The temporal coverage of the TGN ranges from prehistory to the present and the scope is global. The TGN includes descriptions of significant physical, cultural or political aspects of places relative to art and architecture.
This site provides access to ICONCLASS an iconographic classification system. This system is a collection of approximately 28,000 hierarchically ordered definitions of objects, persons, events, situations and abstract ideas that can be the subject of a work of art.

Thesaurus for Graphic Materials
The Thesaurus for Graphic Materials is a tool for indexing visual materials by subject and by genre/format. The thesaurus includes more than 7,000 subject terms and 650 genre/format terms to index types of photographs, prints, design drawings, ephemera, and other pictures. The subject and genre/format vocabularies, previously maintained separately as TGMI and TGMII, are now merged into a single list.
